Dear Tennessee Credit Unions,
We hope this letter finds you well and that 2026 is a prosperous year for you and your credit union. We wanted to take a moment to highlight for our combined memberships the collective strength, stability, and shared purpose found within the longstanding partnership between Volunteer Corporate Credit Union (VolCorp) and Tennessee Credit Union League.
That relationship traces back decades from the mid-1970s when the League helped organize and charter Tennessee Central Credit Union to the maturity of Tennessee Central into what is now Volunteer Corporate Credit Union to today where you have two strong, distinct organizations, both focused on strengthening Tennessee credit unions.
Having a strong VolCorp and a strong League are valuable tools to help you and your credit union succeed. VolCorp provides liquidity, payments, investments, and operational infrastructure as well as many other key functionall, strategic, and consulting services. The League advocates on behalf of credit unions, delivers education and compliance resources, and provides solutions to member credit unions through carefully vetted vendors, products, and strategic relationships designed to help credit unions better serve their members. Together, these complementary efforts support credit unions in different but meaningful ways. Having a strong VolCorp and a strong League are valuable tools to help you and your credit unions succeed. But having a strong relationship between the two is a force multiplier as we work together to support Tennessee Credit Unions.
Occasionally, we are asked if we compete against each other or if we work well together. It is true this working relationship includes occasional overlap and even infrequent competition among some strategic partners, vendors, and services. We view this as healthy and beneficial. These respective affiliations have been, and will continue to be, a valuable part of the services provided by both organizations. Rather than creating conflict, they reinforce our shared determination to provide you with options so you can determine which solutions best fit your credit union. We do not view this as choosing between supporting the League or VolCorp, but rather as both organizations providing you with greater flexibility and more tools to serve your members.
We would also like to emphasize the alignment in our missions. VolCorp is committed to building strong relationships through tailored solutions to propel credit unions toward success. The League is committed to promoting and supporting the success and advancement of credit unions. While the approaches may differ, the focus is the same—helping credit unions thrive.
So much of our industry and environment is changing. But what is not changing is the partnership and evolving appreciation between our two organizations and our common goal of helping you succeed. We are quite proud of that.
We sincerely appreciate your role in our industry and the communities you serve. It is a privilege for both of our organizations to support your efforts today and well into the future. We are proud of our shared history, respectful of our independence, and confident in our continued efforts to support Tennessee credit unions.
Passionately committed to your success,
